Have you ever tried anything from the menu of MOF Japanese Sweets and Cafe? What does MOF stand for? It is quite simple but not necessarily easy to guess…. MOF is Ministry Of Food and it is famous for the desserts or drinks made from Matcha of Hokkaido Japan. So yummy!
The first time I tried a Matcha drink in MOF I didn’t like it because it was quite bitter. Matcha is finely ground tea powder. However, after a few sips, the flavor of your drink will make it unforgettable. Because of their passion for Matcha, MOF outlets in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) offer nice Matcha combos for their beloved guests in July and August 2013.
Ministry of Food has several outlets in HCMC, Vietnam. You can check out their addresses at the MOF website. The one I usually go to is on Le Loi street:
30 Le Loi St., Ben Nghe Ward, Dist.1, HCM City.
9:00 am – 11:00 pm
There is an MOF Facebook page but not really any other information than the address at Saigon Pearl building between District 1 and An Phu (District 2).
When I visited I tried one combo which is about 174 000VND and included one Iced Matcha, one Matcha Chestnut Crepes and one Matcha Tiramisu.
The flavor was so good that when I finished my combo I still wanted to order one more although I was very full. That’s why after a few days I ask my friend to go with me to MOF again to try other Matcha desserts.
The New York cheese is so amazing with fantastic smell although the look is not special. Besides, the price is acceptable with just about 70 000VND.
What do you think of these Matcha Waffles? Aren’t they beautiful? Yes, of course. They are not only beautiful but also delicious. If you haven’t had a chance to try anything in MOF, you must arrange your time to go to there now because the month of Matcha promotion is almost finished. Let’s go, let’s go.
Next time, I will introduce more about other foods in MOF so that you can understand more about the reasons why they named their restaurants “Ministry Of Food”.
